Hughes in 1950, the course has long been a favorite among pro golfers and celebrities for its challenging layout, and beautiful desert valley setting. The country club has played a key role in the Palm Springs area's tourism popularity, with membership here highly sought after.
Thunderbird Country Club History
Golfers at Thunderbird enjoy all the perks of playing at the state's oldest desert course. Beautiful stands of mature trees line the course's traditional winter rye fairways and split level greens, which wrap around several well-established lakes. The 18 hole, par 71 course spans 6,460 yards from its longest tees, and is bordered by several attractive home, villa, and condo neighborhoods.
