It was an emotional decision to put our house up for sale when my mother reached 91 years old. My family had spent decades making memories there. Cary Gerken and Maria Elena Hernandez make a winning team. They are very skilled at determining what should be done to get the house ready: furniture had to be removed because the house was too full (after having been fully furnished, it collected a number of pieces from the downsizing sale of a home up North), the paint color was out of date, and there was extensive deferred maintenance inside and out. They were able to direct the appropriate vendors to handle this multifaceted task and make it look easy. Cary and Maria Elena got done what we needed in a very short period of time. As an example, three different landscapers were involved because of their different skill sets. Nothing is ever easy - except putting Cary and Maria Elena in charge of a large task and letting them work their magic. They have high standards and deep vendor relationships. Thunderbird Only exceeded our expectations by succeeding in selling the house substantially above asking price, with a 21-day close. They had an executed back up offer in place the entire time, but it was not needed. Cary looked out for our best interest, and gave sage advice regarding negotiating. Cary is amazing. He helped me with what seemed like an overwhelming task of selling my parent's home when they died. He didn't just list the house. The house was a mess. He got people who removed all the furniture as a donation for taxes; he had a mover that took large furniture items and shipped them across country (they arrived in perfect condition); he sold the car; his cleaning crew left the house immaculate. Cary sold the house in two weeks for over asking price. He is so helpful and easy to work with. I would not hesitate to hire him.
